Class Etiquette
We begin classes promptly at the start times. Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early, so that you can settle in and get all the props you need.
No late arrivals will be buzzed up, so please do not press the downstairs buzzer. The "Do Not Disturb" sign means that class has begun, so please respect others and do not knock on the door.
If you do find yourself arriving right before we start, please enter quietly with your coat already off, keys already put away and cell phone turned off.
Sit quietly during the initial centering and unroll your mat only after we begin moving.
How to Prepare for Class
Arrive 10-15 minutes before class is scheduled to begin.
Lie quietly on your mat or gently move your body to prepare for doing yoga.
Conversations should be kept to a minimum before class begins.
No shoes allowed in the studio: Leave shoes and overcoats in the reception area. Bring all valuables with you into the studio as we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
No cell phones, pagers or other electronic devices in the studio.
Refrain from eating, or eat only lightly two hours before class.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing in layers, so you can remove/add layers as body temperature may change during the class.
Bring a mat or beach towel to practice on, and a blanket for covering up during relaxation. Yoga ties and other props are provided.
Please do not wear perfumes, scented lotions or oils as they may cause allergic reactions in others.
To maximize the benefits of the class experience, you should attend regularly, and practice at home at least one or two times per week.
Building Access
We are in a secure building with access through an intercom system. The main entrance is located at the end of the building closest to where you drive in. Look for the red awning with the building number 153 on it.
Press the buzzer next to the button labeled 'Neponset Valley Yoga' to be allowed access to the building. We are on the second floor halfway down the hall on the left
